About Kim
Kim Kankiewicz writes about social history and under-the-radar
cultural topics for outlets including NPR, The Washington Post,
The Atlantic, O, The Oprah Magazine, Salon, and many others.
Her narrative writing has appeared in publications like Creative Nonfiction,
where she won a best essay prize and a Pushcart nomination, and
Best Short Stories from the Saturday Evening Post Great American Fiction Contest. Kim is a recipient of an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Book Grant and holds a PhD in Creative Writing and American Studies
from the University of Kansas.
